About

About

I, Abhas Anand, working as a Prime Minister's Research Fellow (PMRF) in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IITD). My research is primarily in designing and developing sustainable battery materials for aqueous zinc-based batteries. My primary research interests include synthesis and electrochemical behavior analysis of materials for next-generation energy storage devices. Prior to joining IIT Delhi, I received my B.Tech. (2017) and M.Tech. (2020) degree in Chemical Engineering from BIT Mesra and Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT Kgp), respectively.

It has been rightly said by Sir Steve Jobs that “If you define the problem correctly, you almost have the solution.” To address the industrial challenges, I pursued my 12 months Master’s project at Tata Steel Limited under the joint supervision of Prof. B.C. Meikap (IIT Kgp) and Dr. Amitabh Shankar (Tata Steel). I was delegated to the coke plant research unit, where I identified and solved the problem of major coal cake breakage.
