About

About

Abhas received his B.Tech. degree in Chemical Engineering from BIT Mesra in 2017 and completed his M.Tech. from IIT Kharagpur in 2020. During his M.Tech. program, he worked with the Coal and Coke Process Technology Group at Tata Steel's Jamshedpur division, where he focused on optimizing blend properties and process parameters using experimental and modeling tools to prevent major cake breakage at the coke plant. He is currently a Ph.D. scholar under the Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF) in the Department of Chemical Engineering at IIT Delhi. His research centers on the synthesis, characterization, and electrochemical evaluation of materials for rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries, with an emphasis on practical scalability and sustainable design.Abhas is a self-motivated researcher with a strong interest in electrochemical systems and sustainable energy technologies. His broader research areas include electrochemical energy storage systems such as zinc-ion batteries, hydrogen generation, supercapacitors, and water splitting, along with reaction kinetics related to oxygen reduction reactions. He is also exploring waste and biomass valorization through electrocatalytic hydrogenation and the conversion of biomass-derived co-products into value-added chemicals.
